Just pretending

It’s not often that an adult gets to act like kid again – unless said adult has kids and can goof off just about any time because it’s entertaining the kids. That person is not me, so when a chance comes up to be ten again, I grasp it. (By the way, Happy Birthday Kelly!)

Running up to the playground is when I have the most fun. The excitement is at its highest when I’m of thinking I’m going to go on the swings and down the slide. Of course when I actually get there, reality hits that I am not ten anymore – or at least my body isn’t. The swings are a little too small and my hips barely fit in the slide. But because my dreams cannot be shattered, I go up there and do it all anyway.

The following day is when the dream truly gets crushed and my poor muscles are screaming you are definitely not ten. The hips and butt are sore from sitting on a tight swing for too long and going down the narrow slides.

My only option to stay ten in my mind is to play SEGA Superstars Tennis. There are no swings or slides, but it’s the only video game I am good at. No one can beat Ulala!
