"It's ironic that the party caught up in this scandal is not expressing their confidence in Elections Canada. Let's not forget that the RCMP searched the Conservative party's headquarters in Ottawa last week. It sounds fishy to me. Canadians can trust Elections Canada; it's the Conservatives that they must keep an eye on", he said in a press release.

Tide Head School students recently visited the Maple Sugar Camp in Mountain Brook where they enjoyed a pancake and syrup lunch. Emily Sears and Mindy Craswell were two of those students who learned about the process involved in making maple syrup.

The Campbellton Centennial Library has acquired an old-fashioned puppet stage, made in the style of those used in an English Punch-and-Judy show. Mr. Punch was not present on April 19, however, when these children saw a puppet performance of The Hockey Sweater/Le Chandail de Hockey.

Organizers for the two pageants held during Salmon Festival every year are looking for contestants. In fact, as of last week only a handful of young women have expressed an interest in the main pageant with only one entered in the Little Miss pageant.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, Grade 6 students at the Dalhousie Middle School received a $1,000 award for participating in NB Power's first annual Earth Day Conservation Education Challenge. The challenge was for students to demonstrate how their class would take measures to conserve electricity.

Teacher Reggie Cyr’s Grade 5 laptop class at L.E.R. school in Dalhousie took part in a world-wide attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous lesson. The event was organiszed by the Canadian Global Campaign for Education as part of Global Action Week.

The Peanut Gallery was pleasantly surprised to have a sold-out show on Friday, April 11th when illusionists Ted and Marion Outerbridge performed Magical Moments in Time. Young and old alike were entertained by their mind-boggling illusions and the appearance of Zelda the Psychic chicken. The excitement at the LER theatre was indescribable!
