Children’s author and storyteller Marie-France Comeau dropped in at the Dundee School March 17 for a special event in celebration of the 2008 Semaine provinciale de la fierte francaise.

Children's author and storyteller Marie-France Comeau, who is a regular guest at the grade school, dropped in March 17 for an activity designed to stimulate the students' creativity and to get them interested in using their writing skills to make something special come to life. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 were encouraged by Comeau to create their own story by developing the characters, writing the plot, and coming up with their own designs for its artwork.

The event allowed youngsters of all ages a chance to participate in the process.

The final touches to the storybook were put together by students from Grades 5 and 6 with the aid of teacher Magali Roussel.

Nadia Savoie, the school's social and community development representative, said the get-together was "a great experience for everyone involved."

"It allowed the children to use the skills they are learning in the classroom towards something which showcased their creativity."
