Letter to the editor | Hospital care was good

Dear editor:
Recently (April, 2008) I was a patient in Campbellton Regional Hospital for 17 days and I am being followed medically following discharge to my home.
I have heard horror stories about our hospital from members of the general public. These comments came mostly from loud-talking person in public places. Nevertheless I was left with a poor impression of care and service at Campbellton Regional.
Now I can speak from first-hand experience. I commend the hard-working staff for the excellent care I received. The food was in ample supply and tasted good — the housekeeping and linen changes were top notch and I wondered if this was the same facility which was spoken about so negatively.
In closing, let me say that I was treated well and served with dignity and professionalism. I am aware that staff levels were short on some nights but my care was not affected in any way.
Thank you for the much-needed excellent treatment, care, and service that you have given me and I know you provide to others.
Robert Parlee
