Letter to the editor | Happy work finally done

Dear editor:
The Mann's Mountain Local Service District, representing the residents of Restigouche River Road, wish to thank the workers of the Department of Transportation who finished repairing the guardrails on the river side of our road, which had been in a dangerous state of collapse for several years.
In September 2006, a delegration of advisors, led by Chairperson W. D. Chesser, met with Mr. Roy Boudreau at his constituency office in Campbellton, with a petition signed by all taxpayers of the community, requesting immediate action, at the time, with special concern re: the school busses carrying students daily during the school year.
It took over a year when finally, in December 2007, during one of the coldest weeks of the winter, DOT workers were hard at work, installing new posts and railings.
We gratefully acknowledge the efforts of the department on behalf of the citizens of the community of Mann's Mountain.
Georgina Babcock
LSD Secretary
