Well, we now have a Health Minister who intends to wage a war as reported in the Times-Transcript on wait time by advising special interest groups to get out of the way. For those who believe they own the health care system in New Brunswick, they may want to rethink. He was quoted as saying, "we intend to do this with or without various special interest groups."

Minister Murphy neglects to name those special interest groups whom he claims are responsible for the wait time for medical treatment and as he does not dare blame the medical profession nor the patient, one can only assume that he is trying to justify bringing in the private sector in the administration of the Medicare system by insinuating that workers and unions are some how responsible for the long wait-time.

The only special interest groups to whom he is maybe referring are those of us who have fought for the introduction of our present Medicare system and are old enough to remember what it is was like when the private sector was involved in the administration of the hospital programs.

He should take a page from the recent experience of Kelly Lamrock, Minister of Education, who displayed the same arrogance when he tried to scuttle the total French emergence program only to have to put some water in his wine by coming up with a compromise which is to no one's satisfaction.

Having personally experienced the arrogance of his Minister of Natural Resources, Mr. Donald Arseneault, I would like to remind the Premier that Ministerial arrogance will not get him re-elected and it is time that he gets a handle on these Ministers as "arrogance" usually reaps the contempt of the electorate.
