Luke Martin, left, of Campbellton was on the receiving end of a number of scoring punches from PEI's Brandon Blaquiere, who scored a referee stopped decision, at a boxing card held in the city April 26.

Local boxers hosted others from around the province as well as those from Quebec and Prince Edward Island in the 13-bout affair.

The same thing occurred in the Jonathan Gregan (ERC)/ Alexandre Lynch 150-pound contest after Lynch continued a first round onslaught into the second. Jesse Gregan (ERC) lost on points to Junior Luce of Chandler (145 lbs).

Some local boxers did pick up victories however, led by Campbellton's Maxime Levesque, 185 lbs, who won by knockout over Jason Ouellette of Matane. Chris Bosworth also won on points over Denis Asple of Matane in a 145-pound bout.

Ringside doctor was Dr. Christian Dufour.

The next boxing card in the region will also be at the Campbellton Lions Club on May 31.
