John Paris Jr. was complaining of chest pains April 29 so he drove himself to the Campbellton Regional Hospital. After a few tests and a couple of days he was subsequently transferred to hospital in Saint John.

It's the third time in four weeks that the Tigers have had to deal with bad news.

On March 29, Marc-Andre Deraspe, 20, died when the sealing boat he was on overturned in the Gulf of St. Lawrence not far from his home on the Magdelene Islands. He had played this season with the club.

On April 7, Eric "Muzzy" Mazerolle suffered a heart attack and later died. He played for the organization in the late 1990s when the team was known as the Restigouche River Rats. Paris had almost predicted something else was to happen to someone involved in the team shortly after hearing of Mazerolle's death.

"It makes you wonder what's going to happen next," said Paris in an e-mail April 11.

He spent all of last week in hospital in Saint John.

Calls to the Tigers office went unreturned.
