Former operators supporting new leaders

Campbellton - Training camp for the Restigouche Jr A Tigers opens this weekend with as many as 40 young men looking for a spot on this year's team.
While work on the ice doesn't start until Friday, the new operators of the club have been busy getting their finances in order since the change in ownership was announced last week.
Mark and Curtis Glidden have stepped forward to run the club this year with both taking an active role, Curtis as the GM and Mark as the co-coach. Curtis said Monday that support so far had been positive and expects it to be even more so as the season approaches.
"We've had some people calling us lending support which is very encouraging as far as the upcoming season goes. More importantly, we've gotten quite a bit of support already and we haven't even hit the ice yet."
That support has come in the form of some season ticket sales that Glidden hopes numbers in the area of 400. Other support has been financial backing by some area businesses, including a former president of the team.
On Monday, Dave Murray of McDonalds presented a $10,000 cheque to Glidden as his contribution to the team in the form of a platinum supporter or advertiser.
"It's important that all local businesses get on board to help make sure this team is here for years to come. They (the Gliddens) need our support but even more, they need people in the seats. I look forward to seeing a successful team this year, both on and off the ice," said Murray.
Glidden said there are still some platinum packages available which includes boxes to watch the games and on ice logos.
"Like Dave said, we need everyone's support in order to have a successful team. The more support we get the better the team will be."
