Restigouche - In three local municipalities, there was no need for an mayoralty election because the mayors were acclaimed.

Tide Head

Randy Hunter was the only person to offer for the position when incumbent mayor Robert Gerrard did not re-offer. His council of four will be made up of Gary Hickey (455), Judy Murray (392), incumbent and Deputy Mayor Donald Munroe (379), incumbent Denyse Arseneault-Zyveniuk (373). Incumbent Donald Pollock (322) went down to defeat.

A total of 857 people were entitled to cast a ballot with 597 doing so, for 66.56 per cent voter turn-out.

Eel River Crossing and Balmoral

The least active municipalities in the region were Eel River Crossing and Balmoral where no election at all was needed and not all the council seats were taken. Denis Savoie won the mayor's seat in Eel River Crossing as the only candidate to offer, while council chairs went to Ronald Clark, Laurent Hachey, Francois Levesque and Ghislain Maltais with one seat left vacant.

In Balmoral, Hebert Arseneault returns to office by acclamation while four of the five council seats will be filled by Claude Arseneault, Guy Landry, Albert Levesque and Donald Savoie.

A by-election will be held in June to fill the vacancies in the two villages.
