Campbellton - With Campbellton recently named as the host site for the CBC's Hockey Day in Canada, we at The Tribune are planning our own coverage and we need help from our readers.

We want to know of any player, coach, builder, stick boy, trainer or anyone else within the hockey world who has graduated from the minor hockey system in Campbellton to go on to play in any of the leagues of the CHL (QMJHL, OHL or WHL). There are a few lucky ones who moved on to play minor pro hockey and even fewer to make it to the American hockey League. Less than five from the Campbellton area have skated in the NHL.

Dalhousie, we want you to be a part of this coverage as well. It's not only Campbellton that will be in the national spotlight on Feb. 21, so anyone with information on hockey people from Dalhousie is encouraged to contact us.

We want as many names, photos or old newspaper clippings that can be found. We know of some but there are literally hundreds of people with ties to the Campbellton area who have gone on to make a name for themselves within the hockey world.

So if you know of someone whose done something great, or even not so great, in hockey, we want to hear from you.

You can drop by the office at 6 Shannon St. in Campbellton, e-mail us at mcnally.trevor@brunswicknews.com or call 753-8232. There's even the old-fashioned way of regular mail. Our address is 6 Shannon St. Campbellton, NB, E3N 2Y2.

Let's make this the best collection of the hockey history of the Campbellton, Dalhousie and surrounding areas that we have ever run in The Tribune.
